He who leaves no tracks...

As bed time stories, it was common to hear of Anansi the Spider. There is one tale in which Anansi tries to swindle land from a chameleon. He trespasses onto the land and has Chameleon chase him, leaving all kind of spider foot prints in the dirt, but no chameleon prints, since chameleons for some reason do not leave foot prints. The spider goes to a judge and is awarded Chameleon's land. In the end, Chameleon does get his land back, plus some, and Anansi is out of luck. This lino cut  print depicts this story, but also plays on the fact that chameleon's can change colors to fit their surroundings, but can't do complex patterns, such as the circles/spider webs in the background.
