I need a scanner....

Some more stuff from the sketchbook...

Satyr or maybe the legendary Goat-man

Goblin

Infinity spider

Monster

Persian cat. They are goofy looking as anything, but I've read they're one of the most affectionate of domestic felines

Mechano -Bot

Schnauzer

Was listening to Little Dragon. This little guy could probably light a candle, but that's about it.

Doberman and some kind of mutt puppy. I prefer mutts more than pure breeds

Sketch Dump

I don't know what brought this up. I think it might have been in the Gorillaz song "Stylo" mentioned something like "how the mako flies". I might have just misheard the lyrics, but it made me think what a flying mako (a type of shark) would look like. My end result is some kind of pheasant.

Some weird creature that I guess will need to wear pants during the winter.

Behemoth getting a dental checkup. I would imagine that such a creature would floss with train tracks.

Loopy dinosaur.

Experimenting with manga pens.

I've never tried drawing a house, so I tried. It's lop sided, but it looks like a happy house.

Puffins, the fake cigarette brand my sister and I made up. We do not encourage smoking.

Bash Bash!

Little ratty buddy Bash. Rats are awesome; they're sweet, love to be petted, can learn tricks, and all kinds of stuff. Besides, rats spells star backwards.

Imagination Swamp

I had a project to draw a non objective self portrait. So I drew what I thought what my imagination would look like. I don't think it looks like that now. I think it's gotten darker and more swampy with bat like creatures flying around in it. I liked the background at any rate. Ink and conte crayon on bristol.

Sheep

Subtractive dry point on copper plate.

Animal Friends

My three cats. Nietzsche (top) is the blind seer while Jasmine (middle) is a strange little being that likes music (especially 50 Cent  for some reason...) and hates the sound of sneezes and metal clinking together. Squee (Squirrel) is just weird, but I like her anyway. Buddy, my dear old friend, passed away last month of old age, but he'll forever be in my mind. They are inspirational to me.

There be monsters!

Etching on a recycled plate.

He who leaves no tracks...

As bed time stories, it was common to hear of Anansi the Spider. There is one tale in which Anansi tries to swindle land from a chameleon. He trespasses onto the land and has Chameleon chase him, leaving all kind of spider foot prints in the dirt, but no chameleon prints, since chameleons for some reason do not leave foot prints. The spider goes to a judge and is awarded Chameleon's land. In the end, Chameleon does get his land back, plus some, and Anansi is out of luck. This lino cut  print depicts this story, but also plays on the fact that chameleon's can change colors to fit their surroundings, but can't do complex patterns, such as the circles/spider webs in the background.

Pest Series

Series of images made from paper and glued on to black mounting board. To me these so called pests aren't really pests, but are just doing what they can to survive in an industrialized land. To monarch caterpillar and dandelion are made from construction paper, while the pigeon is made from newspaper, since they are so symbolic of city life. Pigeons are also known as rock doves, thus the reason for the biblical branch it's holding.

Apothecary Still Life

Still life made from a bunch of specimens and replicas, including a coyote (or some sort of canine skull), a rhino beetle, a katydid, a dried puffer fish, and a human skull replica that is missing it's teeth. In an apothecary cabinet, all kinds of weird things would be used as a way to cure people (even human mummies). There was no distinction whether or not it was animal or human, as long as it some how helped the person. Conte crayon and charcoal.

Retro Chat Noir

Student project. An updated version of Steinlen's famous poster, using characteristics of 1950 era posters. Digital.

Camille Saint-Saen's Carnival of Animals: Aquarium

Student project. Poster designed for Saint-Sean's musical number. Imaginary theater and date (although the Carnival of Animals was completed in 1885). Digital.
